Rachel Brosnahan has been announced as the actress to portray Lois Lane in the upcoming DC superhero blockbuster “Superman: Legacy,” directed by James Gunn.
David Corenswet has been cast as Clark Kent and will take on the role of Superman in the film.
Warner Bros. Pictures confirmed the casting of Brosnahan and Corenswet, expressing their excitement for these talented actors.
James Gunn, the director of “Superman: Legacy,” praised the casting choices on Twitter, describing Brosnahan and Corenswet as both incredible actors and wonderful individuals.
This film is considered DC Studios’ opportunity to revamp the “Superman” property under Gunn’s leadership as co-CEO of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran.
Rachel Brosnahan’s casting comes after her acclaimed performance as Miriam ‘Midge’ Maisel in the Emmy-winning series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and her earlier role in the hit political series “House of Cards.”
David Corenswet, known for his role in Ryan Murphy’s series “The Politician” and the horror film “Pearl,” makes his debut in a major franchise with “Superman: Legacy.”
Corenswet takes over the role of Superman from Henry Cavill, who announced his departure from the franchise under Gunn and Safran’s leadership.
“Superman: Legacy” is part of DC Studios’ larger plan to create an interconnected story for the iconic franchise and characters, as announced in January.
