A missing 4-year-old girl, Cortana Goncalves, has been found safe in the town of Cheshire, Massachusetts

The activation of an Amber Alert led to the successful recovery of the child

Cortana was taken by her biological mother, 32-year-old Brandee Arnold, who does not have custody of the child

State police located the mother and child inside a trailer at a trailer park on Fifth Avenue in Cheshire

Arnold, now in police custody, will be transported to Springfield police, who have jurisdiction over the kidnapping incident

Arnold violated her custody agreement by taking Cortana from a family gathering earlier that morning

Prior to the child's recovery, there was "urgent concern" for her safety and well-being due to Arnold's history of making suicidal and homicidal statements
